SSD 78-Barb-Uplifting

I struggled a bit with the sponging on this and you really have to look to see the stitching, but after it was done I was pleased with the colors and how it turned out.  I used Uplifting (from Skipping Stones Design of course).

I was excited about this sketch because I needed a card which was easy to mail and this was one that didn't call for a lot of bulky embellishments.  See what you can come up with this week:

This is the last week for these awesome sketches by Danielle Flanders, so be sure to play along and use SSD 78 if you post to any on line galleries!

Feature Friday with Skipping Stones Design and Play Date Cafe!

Hi there!  TGIF!  Today I have the opportunity to showcase one of my favorite 'Oldies but Goodies' from Skipping Stones Design.  This was the second set I purchased way back when (if you go to the shop, the oldest sets are at the very bottom).  This is called Margarita Birthday and has some fabulously funny sayings:

And not only that, Play Date Cafe #83 is sponsored this week by Skipping Stones Design!  Go to their site to find more awesome creations using the following color scheme challenge (Black and White with a Splash of Green) and some great stamp sets!

Hope you have a fabulous holiday weekend!

National Scrapbook Day ~ Skipping Stones Design Style ~

Happy National Scrapbooking Day, Skipping Stones Design style!!   We have put together a Blog Hop with some of our past and current FABULOUS designers.

If you just arrived from Julie Masse's  blog, then you are in the right place!!  Hop along and see all the fabulous Scrapbook pages  made with Skipping Stones Design stamps!!!    I promise you will like what you see!!!!

I tend to use clean, simple lines in my layouts, I think because I don't have many opportunities to use a feminine touch since I have all boys...

My first page was made using one of the images from Garden Stamp Kiss

...the more I use this set, the more I love it!

and Dandelion Dreams

...a really versatile set

The second page of my layout I used Dandelion Dreams again

and the bookplate tag was made using a very faint Pumpkin Seed Sentiment background along with a quote from the set Always Here

I hope you can see the versatility of these great stamps for cards or for scrapbooking.

Leave a comment on each blog (some are giving away prizes) and when you have finished, go back to the beginning at Skipping Stones Design and leave a comment, telling us what you thought of the hop.  One lucky commenter will be chosen Wednesday, May 11th to win the Skipping Stones Design brand new May release stamp set!!!

Your next stop along the way is the very talented Laurel Seabrook.

Sketch Tuesday at Skipping Stones Design

So, since there are five Fridays in May, the Stamp Tramps were given a 'freebie sketch day' and were given the opportunity to choose one of our favorite sketches.

I used Dandelion Dreams for the image and Heartsong for the sentiment...I love this quote and haven't had the opportunity to use it in the right sketch yet.  I think it works well with this one.

I really like this sketch and I'm sure I'll use it again!  Thanks Heidi!

I also was excited to use some of this 'newsprint' dsp and coupled it with this great 'bronze' cardstock and some bronze embossing powder.

Thanks for looking!

Obey All The Rules

I needed to make a birthday card for a friend I've known for years and recently re-connected with.  This Skipping Stones Design sentiment is perfect for her...she never was one to 'obey all the rules'!  I think this set went perfect with the color scheme at Play Date Cafe Challenge 79.

And also for the square challenge for Mojo Monday 188.
