Skipping Stones Design #91 and a Fond Farewell!

I can't believe this is my last post as a Skipping Stones Design 'Stamp Tramp'!  I have thoroughly enjoyed my two terms, and hope I'll be asked back as a guest DT member some time!  I'm really looking forward to seeing what the new DT members create with these great stamps.

I bought this Graphic 45 paper quite a while ago and hadn't figured out how to use it until I saw this great sketch, the last one from the talented Teri Anderson...I used the fancy slipper from Sassy Shoes and the sweet curved birthday sentiment from Victorian Summer.  I had a lot of fun with this sketch, several ideas came to mind, but I stopped at two...let's see what you guys come up with!

For this one, I used Chick Chat and some cute paper from Cosmo Cricket...oh, and Grunge for the background circles.

It's been so much fun getting to know all of you, and I'll be following!

Tips and Tricks Thursday (or a reminder...)

This is not so much a Tips & Tricks as it is a reminder to use some of the techniques (and products) that may have ended up on a shelf somewhere...I haven't used my chalks in ages!

I love lavender, the scent is so soothing, and Dandelion Dreams has a couple of stamps that have been calling out to me for a while now...

First, get out your chalk, Versamark pad, daubers and stamp set:

Stamp your image with Versarmark and use the daubers to apply the chalk:

And here's the finished product:
Too simple?  I hope this gets you to pull out some forgotten product to play with...thanks for stopping by!

Blog 4 Boobies-Fundraiser Auction-Year Two

Help us Stamp Out Cancer!!!!

Welcome to the second annual Blog 4 Boobies fundraiser!

This is day 1 of a 3 day blog bounce(hop) where EVERY CARD OR PROJECT is up for auction!

Edit: Don't forget, your bid is not valid if you don't add your email address!  (Current bid on my project and new Skipping Stones Design stamp set is $20 because the bid for $25 isn't 'signed' with an email address)

For the full lineup, see my post here.

This year I chose to offer a 'gift set' of 3 cards.  When I was going through treatment for breast cancer, there were so many friends, neighbors and family who were so supportive... I needed lots of Thank You cards.  This little set would make a great gift for someone you know who is going through a tough time, whether it be cancer or some other trial.

Instead of the traditional pink for Breast Cancer, I chose my inspiration from the Breast Cancer postage stamp (stamped envelopes included).  Hope you like them ~ and keep reading, there's a bonus too!

This was made using the set Bras Volume #2

This is from Heartsong

And the sentiment from this card is from my new favorite which will be released this week called Everyday Blessings.  It's a 'must have'!  In fact, it's such a great set for thank you notes that I am offering a brand new EVERYDAY BLESSINGS stamp set to the highest bidder on my auction!

 ~OR~

Last year Skipping Stones Design raised and donated $1108.99 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. It is our goal to raise $1500 this year and WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!

There are 3 ways you can join in on the fun(draising)

1. You can help by Shopping!
For every stamp set that you purchase during August 15th through the 23rd SSD will donate $2 to the Komen Foundation.  Stamping and shopping that you can feel good about !   Click  Here to laugh at  some of our funniest stamps  Click Here to be inspired or Click here to see everything we've got!

2. You can help by *Bidding!
Another way you can help us raise money for the Komen Foundation is to *bid on a project or card along the blog bounce(hop).  YES! EVERY Single card/project along the blogs for boobies bounce is up for auction.  We recommend a starting bid of $5 or more.  Your *Bid  not only includes the card or project but shipping to your home as well.   * See how to place a bid for more detailed instructions.
If you are the highest bidder August 23rd 8:00 p.m. mountain time then you WIN the card/project that you bid on.
 3. You can help by Telling Your Friends!
Help us spread the word about "blogs 4 boobies"  the more people that know, the more money we can raise!!!  If you have a blog feel free to copy and paste part or all of our Blogs 4 Boobies posts.
*"How to place a bid on my card/project"
Step #1
Find the comment section of the blog that shows the "Blogs 4 boobies" card or project that you want to buy.  *Please note you may only bid on the card/project shown in the specific "blogs 4 boobies" post. *Any bids not placed on the correct post will be considered invalid.
Step #2
Once you are in the "blog 4 boobies" comment section fill in the dollar and cents amount of what you are willing to pay for the card/project.  We recommend a starting bid of $5 or more.  Remember your bid includes shipping as well as the card/or project.  100% of your bid will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation
Step #3
Next to your $ bid please type in your email address. During a silent auction bidders sign their name next to their bid. Typing your email address is the electronic equivalent of signing your bid.  Also it will help the blogger contact you if you are the highest bidder.
Step #4
Watch and wait.
Once you have entered your bid/comment sit back and wait.  If someone out bids you then you may bid again.  Bidding will continue until 8:00 p.m. Mountain time August 23rd
* Please note that the participating stampers/bloggers will probably re-post their Blogs 4 Boobies card/project on the 23rd of September.  When the bloggers re-post their project  then the bidding will continue on the NEWEST post and that comment section.
"What do I do once I place a bid"
Watch and Wait
The "Winner of the Auction" will be the highest bid  (that includes an email address) in the comment section of the MOST RECENT blogs 4 boobies post at the end of the silent auction.  Please note that ALL cards/projects WILL BE REPOSTED on the 23rd of September.  The silent auction will end at 8:00 p.m. Mountain Time on August 23rd .
Things to keep in mind:
Near the end of the bidding you may not see bids as they come in. Many blogs have a comment feature where the blogger must approve comments before they are published.  So bid high.  You might have the highest bid that is published, but someone might have outbid you in an unpublished comment/bid.
The blogger/designer will declare who has won the silent auction.  Skipping Stones Design will send you an invoice for your donation/bid amount.  Please pay that invoice as soon as possible, so the designer can get your card/project in the mail to you.
Remember 100% of your bid will be donated to the Susan G. Komen foundation.
You are here at my blog Barb's Boys Inspired
You should have come here from Becky Olsen's blog.
Next you are going to visit Taylor Usry's blog.
Here is the list of today's participants: make sure to come back the next two days and check out our other amazing designers, cards, and projects.

Day #1:

PaperCrafts Connections Blog (Renae Curtz):  http://www.papercraftsconnection.com/
Have fun bouncing from blog to blog.  Enjoy all the designs, and make a bid or two! This is a rare opportunity to take home a card(s)/project from your favorite designer, and fight the war against breast cancer!!!  And be sure to leave comments along the way, we all love your input!

Friends give color to our lives.

Here is one I don't think I've posted...I created it for a sketch challenge but it wasn't selected, so now I can post it!  I really like the way the 'stamped off' gray reminds me of pencil sketches.  I distressed the edges of the white mat but it only really shows up on the top...oh well.  The balloons are from Skipping Stones Design 'Uplifting' and the sentiment is from 'Healing Wings'.

Skipping Stones Design #88-Victorian Summer Everyday Blessings

Hi there, it's Tuesday and that means another fabulous sketch from our August Guest Designer, Teri Anderson.  First check out all of the Stamp Tramps (sidebar) and Guest Design Team (below) creations:

And then create your own...be sure to tag it as SSD 88 if you link to any on-line galleries.

If you want to see them all at once, go straight to Skipping Stones Design

I used one of the fabulous images from Victorian Summer to create my background paper, and then a sentiment from next week's new release Everyday Blessings.

Skipping Stones Design #87-Victorian Summer Butterflies

I stamped the butterflies from the new set Victorian Summer in Blushing Bride on white cardstock, then stamped them again in White Craft ink on pink vellum, cut them out and added some pretty pink pearls.  I really don't use pink very much, tend to lean more toward the masculine or earth tones, but I like the way the vellum and pearls turned out.  I also changed up the sketch a little, which is odd for me, I usually follow the sketch to a fault!

Check out the other DT members creations at Skipping Stones Design.   Be sure to play along and use SSD 87 if you upload to any on line galleries. Here's the sketch for this week:

Here's our great line up for August:
Sketch Artist - Teri Anderson
Guests - Karen Baker, Kryssi Ng, Maureen Plut, Stephanie Mino

Here is the color inspiration from Play Date Cafe:
