Pastel and Pearls

This is my first attempt at Canvas Decoupage...I need more practice! But I wanted to play in the Frilly and Funkie - Pastels and Pearls Challenge because I had been holding on to this cute pearl embellishment with the letter 'C' for Cambria, my first grandchild.

So, I've never owned much in the way of pink paper, but I did pick up a couple of pink themed DSP when I found out I was having a granddaughter...I should have just started from scratch!  I didn't have the right color ink or the right color paper for the flowers...so I had to do some serious adapting.  In the end I think it is 'just okay', but you've got to start somewhere, right?  I did have fun with the pearls!  Thanks for the challenge!

12 Tags of 2016 - June

My tag was inspired by a long overdue visit to the optometrist this month. I must say I feel rather guilty about waiting so long to have my eyes checked and only finally went because my eyesight seemed to be getting so much worse the past few months.

Tissue Wrap Collage and Stencil Plaid

I did purchase some of the Tim Holtz Tissue Wrap Plain to try stamping on and layering with collage medium, but I didn't have the Tim Holtz Stencil Stripes so I used an old striped stamp to make my plaid with Pumice Stone and Faded Jeans Distress Ink. I thought about using my burlap stencil but in the end liked the look of the striped/plaid.

In all things of nature...

The current challenge over at Frilly and Funkie is Let The Words Do The Talking.

I have always loved the font on this stamp from Sheena Easton, but I've never had occasion to use it. The limited space on this Frame makes it a little difficult to get too Frilly or Funkie and still have room for the image and the sentiment, but what can I say, I was running out of time once again.

Actually, the project I made for the previous challenge, Oh The Places You'll Go (the beach), would have worked well for this one as well, since the sentiment is one of my favorite quotes...and I missed the posting by one minute!  That's what I get for waiting till the last minute.

I've been busy working on a fundraiser for 'Blogs 4 Boobies' to raise money for The Susan G. Komen Foundation, and have put most of my creative efforts into that...along with a baby shower gift bag and tag.

Anyhow, thanks for stopping by!

Last Day to Bid on Day 5 - Blogs 4 Boobies - 2016

Welcome to Day 5 of Blogs 4 Boobies!

Skipping Stones Design has organized this fantastic auction to raise money for Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research.

Over 60 talented designers have created cards to be auctioned off to the highest bidder and will be showcased for 7 fantastic days.  All proceeds from this auction will be donated to the Komen Foundation.

I am a Breast Cancer Survivor. While going through treatment there were many amazing friends and family members who were a wonderful support, so my initial thought was to make a set of Thank You cards to auction off...but then again, when going through something like that, a card of encouragement was very special as well.

So, for the auction I got a little carried away and made

 5 Thank You cards

and

5 Encouragement cards

Bras - Volume 2

Cancer Schmancer

 Victorian Summer

Breathtaking Butterflies, Sentiment - Cancer Schmancer

Everyday Blessings

I tried to stay close to the colors in the Breast Cancer Research postage stamps* (see note below).  Envelopes are included.
